Hamburg Süd names 5,552-TEU ship

Hamburg Süd has christened its first ship in Romania, the 5,552-TEU Monte Azul, at the Daewoo-Mangalia Heavy Industries (DMHI) yard. Following delivery later this month, the vessel will enter the German carrier’s Asia/South Africa/East Coast South America New Good Hope Express (NGX) service. The Monte Azul is 272 meters long, has a breadth of 40 meters and maximum draft of 13.2 meters. The 71,476-deadweight-ton ship has a sailing speed of 23.3 knots.   American Shipper
