Maersk Line has announced rate increases on services between Europe and the Middle East and South Asia.
For South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka) to the Mediterranean and North Europe it will charge US$250 per 20' dry container and $500 per 40' dry container. As of September 1 the prices will be adjusted to $150 per 20' dry container and $300 per 40' dry container.
From Mediterranean to Middle East and South Asia, it will charge $100 per 20' dry container and $200 per 40' dry container as of July 1.
The increases apply to all cargo and commodities, excluding reefers.
ZIM has also announced a general rate increase on the Asia-Med and Asia-North Europe trade charging $250 per TEU on the Asia to East Mediterranean and Black Sea route, and $300 per TEU on the Asia to North Europe and West Mediterranean.
