The Florida Department of Transportation has announced plans to build a new dedicated truck ramp from the Port of Tampa to Interstate 4.
The new port access ramp is part of the $600 million I-4 - Crosstown Expressway Connector project that has been fast-tracked as a result of the federal stimulus program, and is to be completed in late 2014, about the same time that completion of the expansion of the Panama Canal is expected to result in increased container shipping services at the port.
