DHL Global Forwarding has launched a China - Vietnam cross-border trucking service, connecting major origins in China with destinations in Vietnam.
The service provides customers with tailored logistics solutions that are cheaper than airfreight and faster than ocean freight.
This cross-border trucking service connects major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Dongguan, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Tianjin, Wuhan and Zhongshan with Vietnamese cities including Hanoi, Haiphong, Danang and Ho Chi Minh City.
The door-to-door service features exclusive truck (full truck load) for short and reliable transit times, bonded and non-bonded service, and GPS-equipped trucks to ensure security and provide daily track and trace.
The pilot cross-border run covered more than 2,500 km, with cargo for Ericsson departing from Nanjing in China on July 10th via Pingxiang in Guangxi Province, to arrive at Erricsson's warehouse in Hanoi on July 15th.
Compared with ocean freight, the trucking service can shave up to ten days off the transit time, and is between 60% and 70% cheaper than airfreight.
