Liner carrier APL is changing the mid-week rotation of its twice-weekly Miami-to-Central America CAX service.
The midweek rotation will include a new stop at the Guatemalan port of Santo Tomas after a stop in Puerto Cortes, Honduras. The weekend sailing will continue to cover Puerto Cortes and Puerto Barrios, another Guatemalan port.
The new rotation for the midweek sailing is Miami, Puerto Cortes, Santo Tomas and Miami. The weekend rotation is Miami, Puerto Cortes, Puerto Barrios and Miami.
APL said it has also moved the cutoff time to Friday at the Port of Miami for one of the two weekly sailings.
“The change will provide shippers an end-of-week cutoff in addition to the traditional Wednesday departure,” the carrier said.
The CAX service is operated with one 500-TEU vessel on a weekly rotation, according to ComPair Data.
