Holguin, Cuba. The inaugural flight departed Toronto's Pearson International Airport at 11:45 a.m. ET last Friday.
"Holguin embraces the traditions of Cuban culture, with a quiet, relaxed atmosphere," said Hugh Dunleavy, WestJet Executive Vice-President of Strategy and Planning. "We saw an excellent opportunity for WestJet to get Canadian travellers out of the cold this winter, with service to a truly gorgeous part of Cuba."
WestJet will fly between Toronto and Holguin once per week each Friday, as a seasonal charter operated by WestJet Vacations, until April 30, 2010.
