DHL launches new direct US – Europe LCL services
DHL has launched direct LCL services from New York to Vienna, Austria and Klaipeda, Lithuania as part of an ongoing roll out of direct consolidations to enhance trade links from the US to Eastern Europe and the Baltics.
Operated by DHL's in-house carrier, Danmar Lines, the new services shave between five and seven days off the prior transit times.
The new weekly service to Austria enables exporters in the US to ship cargo from New York to Vienna, port-to-port, in fourteen days, and then extend their supply chain in Eastern Europe to the markets of Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Macedonia.
The new bi-weekly service to Lithuania, which enables exporters to ship cargo from New York to Klaipeda, port-to-port, in eighteen days, links US exporters to the Baltic trade in Tallin, Riga, Vilnius, Minsk and Kiev.
The new service marks the ninth new route that DHL has launched this year in the US:
- New York - Poland (Lodz)
- New York - Switzerland (Zurich)
- New York - Taiwan (Keelung)
- Chicago - Hong Kong
- Chicago - Brazile (Santos)
