Hong Kong based Cathay Pacific is to add a fourth weekly cargo service to Miami, USA as Asian exports to the region rise.
In 2009, China alone sent about US$3.5 billion worth of goods to the Miami customs district, according to USATradeOnline.gov, a trade database maintained by the US Census Bureau.
In its first year serving the destination, Cathay brought 15,277 tons of cargo into Miami, competing with China Airlines and Seoul-based Korean Air out of Asia.
Cathay also plans to increase its freighter fleet by 10 B747-800 freighters.
