China Southern Airlines plans to open an air cargo service route from Guangzhou to Amsterdam in July this year, Xinhua reported.
Flights between Guangzhou and Amsterdam will only take 12.5 hours after the new direct route is opened, 2.5 hours shorter than flights to Amsterdam that take off from Shanghai via Beijing.
Along with the recovery of the economy and the coming of the Asian Games in Guangzhou in November, cargo transported by China Southern that transfers in Guangzhou has exceeded 6,000 tonnes in the first quarter, accounting for 16.9 percent of the total cargo China Southern transported from Guangzhou, 5.6 percent higher from the same period of last year.
