DHL said it has started less-than-containerload ocean freight services from Colombo to Montreal.
The service will link the Sri Lankan container hub to Montreal in 23 days through DHL’s in-house carrier Danmar Lines.
Among Sri Lanka’s top exports to Canada are apparel and clothing accessories, tires and tea, while top imports included dried leguminous vegetables, muslin and wheat.
“Colombo is a key part of our LCL network in South Asia as it serves as the natural hub for Bangladesh, India and Pakistan which are connected to this service through our feeder network,” said Amadou Diallo, chief executive officer of DHL Global Forwarding, South Asia Pacific.
