Container carrier Samudera Shipping Line upgraded its feeder connections between India’s eastern Port of Kolkata and Singapore.
The carrier phased in an additional vessel on its Kolkata-Haldia Express (CALEX) Service, taking total vessel deployment to three.
Singapore-based Samudera said it is now in a position offer a weekly frequency on the route, compared with fortnightly sailings operated earlier.
The CALEX rotation is Singapore, Kolkata, Haldia, and back to Singapore.
Samudera also operates similar shuttle services to and from other gateway ports in the Indian subcontinent, including Jawaharlal Nehru (Nhava Sheva), Pipavav, Chennai, Colombo (Sri Lanka), Karachi (Pakistan), and Chittagong (Bangladesh).
