Allied Air Cargo expands fleet and route network

7/2/2010 10:20:22 AM

Nigerian all-cargo airline, Allied Air Cargo, is expanding both its aircraft fleet size and its route network throughout Africa due to increased demand on all routes.

Established in 1996, the Lagos-based airline has grown gradually over the last five years, and currently operates a fleet of four Boeing 727 freighters and two MD11Fs - the second of which joined the fleet this month.

From its European base in Ostende, Belgium, Allied Air now offer direct MD11F services to Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt in Nigeria, as well as Kinshasa (in conjunction with Demavia), Libreville (in conjunction with Gabon Airlines) and Lusaka (in conjunction with Eurocargo/Stabo Air), as well as numerous other destinations in Africa including Entebbe, Johannesburg and Nairobi.

The B727 fleet operates regional services within West Africa including Abidjan, Accra, Doula, Libreville, and Malabo (in conjunction with DHL), as well as domestic freighter services within Nigeria.

The first of two B737-300Fs will also join the Allied Air fleet later this year.
