Lufthansa Cargo plans to raise freight prices globally from October 1, a customer told Dow Jones Newswires.
The company intends to lift freight fares by an average of 20 percent.
Lufthansa Cargo cited the sharp drop in demand for freight traffic during the economic crisis and the resulting losses that caused.
It said freight rates declined during the economic downturn and in some regions they still haven't recovered to pre-crisis levels.
