Zim merges Kingston/U.S., South America/Gulf loops

Liner carrier Zim has merged two Americas services into a butterfly loop connecting the U.S. Gulf Coast, the Caribbean, and South America.

According to ComPair Data, Zim’s SAX and UEX services have been merged into a seven-ship loop with a new rotation of Kingston, Vitorio, Rio Grande, Itajai, Santos, Pecem, La Guaira, Kingston, Tampa, Mobile, Houston and Kingston.

The UEX service previously had a rotation of Kingston, Tampa, Mobile, Houston and Kingston.

Average vessel capacity on the weekly service, which Zim operates alone, is 2,055 TEUs.
