Korean liner carrier Hyundai Merchant Marine has dropped out of a multicarrier loop linking Southeast Asia and Australia, according to ComPair Data.
Six carriers remain (either as vessel operators or slot buyers) on the AAX butterfly service, which has a rotation of Singapore, Port Klang, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Fremantle, Singapore, Port Klang, Fremantle, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Fremantle and Singapore.
The service is operated with five vessels (ANL and APL provide two each and NYK Line the other) with an average capacity of 4,146 TEUs. China Shipping, Hapag-Lloyd, and OOCL are slot buyers.
