Germany’s Lufthansa Cargo has reported record revenue cargo tonne kilometres for 2010 with (FTKT) increasing to a record 8.9 billion FTKTs. The volume of cargo and mail transported climbed by 18.2 per cent to 1.79 million tonnes.
Freight and mail tonnage increased appreciably in all traffic regions, with most growth in the Americas, where tonnage soared by 24.9 per cent, followed by the Asia/Pacific with growth of 20.6 per cent.
During the year, Lufthansa Cargo had raised capacity by 7.6 per cent thanks to ‘reactivated’ freighters, new aircraft joining the fleet and the integration of the cargo capacities of Austrian Airlines.
