The G6 Alliance’s Loop 3 Asia-Europe service will not include a call at the port of Gdansk, Poland, OOCL said Friday.
The Hong Kong-based carrier said the decision not to call at Gdansk was due to “unforeseen circumstances of securing a berthing window.”
Cargo bound for Poland will continue to be accepted on G6 Alliance services that call German ports as it will be discharged at either Hamburg or Bremerhaven before being relayed by feeder to the destination.
The new Loop 3 port rotation will be: Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore, Tangier, Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, Gothenburg, Rotterdam, Jeddah, Singapore, Shekou, Hong Kong and back to Shanghai.
The G6 alliance was formed last December to combine services on the Asia-Europe trade lane by the carriers that belong to the Grand Alliance, Hapag-Lloyd, NYK and OOCL, and the New World Alliance, APL, Hyundai Merchant Marine and MOL.
