Hapag-Lloyd said it plans to assess a peak season surcharge for all cargoes and all container types from the Far East to Northern Europe from Aug. 1 through Sept. 30.
The surcharge, $350 per TEU, applies to all Far East origin points, including Southeast Asia, with the exception of Japan.
The line said it will also seek to raise rates on the same trade by $250 per TEU from Aug. 15.
