German ocean carrier Hapag-Lloyd will decrease its low water surcharge for all cargo moving through the Port of Montreal to and from North Europe, the Mediterranean and Africa, as well as East Asia, the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East, effective Feb. 6.
For westbound trade on the SLCS 1 and SCLS 2 routes, the charges will be $100 per 20-foot container and $150 per 40-foot container. For eastbound trade, the charges will be $60 per 20-foot container and $95 per 40-foot container.
On the JMCS route A (MCA), the charges will be $60 per 20-foot container and $95 per 40-foot container.
