MOSCOW Domodedovo Airport has announced that air freight volumes in June 2013 rose by 2.5 per cent compared to the same month a year earlier to 16.7 thousand tons.
Freight traffic in the first half of the year was up 4.1 per cent compared to the same period last year at 92.900 tons.
Passenger numbers grew by 9.1 per cent in June year on year to three million travellers. The overall number of flights increased by 3.4 per cent to 24.3 thousand take-off and landings.
In June, international passenger traffic rose by 13.5 per cent compared to the same month last year to 1.9 million passengers. Domestic passengers number grew by 2.5 per cent year on year to 1.1 million travellers.
From January to June, passenger traffic amounted to 13.9 million people and rose by 12.6 per cent compared with the same period in 2012. The number of flights increased by 4.6 per cent to 122.3 thousand take-off and landings.
In the first half of the year passenger traffic on domestic routes totalled 5.6 million, up 12.2 per cent year on year. International passenger traffic over this period totalled 8.3 million people, an increase of 12.9 per cent, a press release from airport authorities said.
