New Zealand’s Ports of Auckland will welcome two new services in September, including Mediterranean Shipping Co.’s Capricorn Service, as well as Kiwi International Express, a new vessel sharing arrangement between ANL, APL and Hanjin Shipping.
Both services will link in New Zealand, Australia and Southeast Asia. The Capricorn service, which currently calls at a number of New Zealand ports, is MSC’s main service calling New Zealand; the KIX service was recently formed.
“Auckland has traditionally been an import dominant port, but these two services also offer us great export potential between Auckland, Australia and Southeast Asia,” said Tony Givson, chief executive of Ports of Auckland, in a written statement.
The first vessel in the Capricorn service will call at Auckland on Sept. 5, and the KIX service will begin service there on Sept. 24.
