KOREAN Air commenced a code-share partnership on January 1 with Russian Far East air carrier and subsidiary of Aeroflot, Aurora Airlines, on the route between Incheon, South Korea and Sakhalin, a large Russian island in the north Pacific.
Created by merging SAT Airlines and Vladivostok Air, Aurora Airlines flies to 18 cities in four countries with 13 aircraft including the Boeing 737.
The Aurora Airlines' flights code-shared by Korean Air to Sakhalin are operated by a Boeing 737 aircraft.
The flights depart from Incheon International Airport on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sundays at 1200 hrs and arrive in Sakhalin at 1645 hrs the same day. The return flights depart from Sakhalin at 0930 hrs, arriving Seoul Incheon at 1050 hrs the next day.
The code-share arrangement adds to Korean Air's Incheon-Moscow flights that are operated five times a week and its daily Incheon-Vladivostok service.
Korean Air currently has code share partnerships with 30 airlines worldwide, including SkyTeam partner airlines such as Delta and Air France.
