Two container shipping lines, CMA CGM and NileDutch, have concluded a vessel sharing agreement (VSA) for services from South America to West Africa. This agreement will take effect in week 22.
The vessel sharing agreement will enable both companies to offer their customers a better and more efficient service. Initially the service will operate using 2,500 TEU NileDutch vessels. As of August, it will use two NileDutch and two CMA CGM vessels, each with a capacity of 4,250 TEUs.
This service, operating every two weeks, will provide a valuable connection between these regions with their rapidly developing economies.
The ports of call in South America are Buenos Aires, Rio Grande, Itajai, Santos and Rio de Janeiro and in West Africa Lomé, Pointe Noire and Luanda.
