CMA CGM Group and its subsidiary Delmas said Wednesday they are launching a new weekly service connecting Europe with the Indian Ocean islands of Mauritius, Reunion and Madagascar, among others.
The service, the Mascareignes Express, will begin at the end of November, and will be operated from Djibouti with four vessels with nominal capacities of 1,700 TEUs. It will provide weekly calls in Port Victoria (Seychelles), Pointe des Galets (Reunion), Port Louis (Mauritius), Tamatave (Madagascar) and Longoni (Mayotte).
Europe will be connected through weekly direct connections in Djibouti on CMA CGM’s EPIC (Europe, Pakistan, India) and MEX (Mediterranean, Asia) services. From North Europe, cargo will be transported via the EPIC service, which calls in Southampton, Hamburg, Antwerp, Le Havre, Port Saïd and Djibouti. From the Mediterranean, cargo will be transported via the MEX service, which calls in Valencia, Barcelona, Fos, Genoa, Malta, Damietta and Djibouti.
