The new MECL2 rotation is Chennai, Colombo, Salalah, Aqaba, Port Said, Algeciras, Newark, New Jersey, Savannah, Georgia, Houston, Texas, Norfolk, Virginia, Algeciras, Port Said, Djibouti (fortnightly call), Jebel Ali, and Colombo, commencing from Norfolk on June 1.
Maersk said the service enhancements would also help provide direct coverage between the U.S. Gulf and Egypt through its MECL2 calls at Houston and Port Said, with a transit time of 17 days on the route.
In addition, there would be additional feeder connections via Port Said to the East Mediterranean markets, including Mersin, Israel, Lebanon and Alexandria.
