Orient Overseas Container Line has announced it will raise fuel charges or rates on three trade lanes.
Rates will go up Sept. 14 for shipments from Hong Kong, Macau and South China to Japan. Effective Oct. 1, the carrier will increase the bunker fuel surcharge on shipments from the United States and Canada to Hong Kong, Macau and South China. OOCL is also raising inland fuel charges on Oct. 1 for shipments from Canada to Hong Kong, Macau and South China.
With effect from Sept. 14, the rate restoration for all dry shipments from Hong Kong, Macau and South China to Japan will be applied as follows:
$100 per 20-foot equivalent unit
$200 per 40-foot equivalent unit
$200 per 40-foot high cube.
From Oct. 1, the bunker charge for all dry shipments from the U.S. West Coast will be applied as follows:
$367 per TEU
$459 per FEU/high cube
The bunker charge for all dry shipments from the U.S. East Coast will be applied as follows:
$730 per TEU
$913 per FEU/high cube
Beginning Oct. 1, the inland fuel surcharge for all dry and reefer shipments from Canada to Hong Kong, Macau and South China will be applied as follows:
$55 per container for truck moves
$190 per container for rail and intermodal moves.
