Evergreen Line said it will raise rates on cargo moving from North America to Asia, Australia and the Middle East on Dec. 1.
For dry cargo originating in Los Angeles, the increase will be $80 for 20-foot containers and $100 for 40-foot and 45-foot containers.
For dry cargo originating at other West Coast ports, inland points or the East Coast, the increases will be $120 per TEU and $150 for 40-foot and 45-foot containers.
For reefer cargo originating in Tacoma or IPI cargo shipped via Tacoma, the rates will be increased $250 for 40-foot high-cube reefer containers. But for reefer cargo moving through other ports, the increases will happen on Jan. 15. West Cost ports will see an increase of $250 for 40-foot high-cube reefer containers, while reefer cargo moving through East Coast ports or inland points will see rates increase $300.
Evergreen also will raise rates from North America to Europe, effective Dec. 1. The increase applies to all commodities and will be $150 per TEU and $250 for 40-foot regular and high-cube containers.
