Hapag-Lloyd will raise freight rates on two major trade lanes covering the Indian Subcontinent, starting in April.

The German carrier will also increase rates on cargo shipped from East Asia (excluding Japan) and Oceania to the Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East. Effective April 1, the increases will be $100 per TEU for shipments to the Indian Subcontinent; $150 per TEU for shipments to the Persian Gulf; $100 per TEU for shipments to the Red Sea (Jeddah, Aqaba, Sokhna, Port Sudan and Hodeidah).
