Speaking in this Commencement ceremony, Mr. Ngô Thanh Minh, vice president of Vietnam Shippers’ Council noted that there is a huge demand of skillful labors in logistics service industry in Vietnam and logistics training, which has become more and more urgent, is one of strategic targets of VNSC in its operations. Mr. Minh highly appreciated the cooperation program of MIL and ALA, and considered this a significant contribution in logistics training in Vietnam. He also asked both MIL and ALA to spread this program to more people and provinces throughout Vietnam. VNSC is willing to provide its supports and cooperation with MIL so that there should be suitable training programs as well as policies for VNSC members.
The Australian Logistics Academy was formed in the 1990’s for the purpose of providing training and education to advance Logistics and Supply Chain Management practices in Australia and the region. It continues to grow as a professional organisation for Logisticians and plays a major role for Members and the business community by providing access to quality management information, resources, practical education and business networking.
After the first success of the program as well as the increasing growth of supply chain among Vietnamese companies in recent years, ALA has joined in a partnership with MGC Institute of Logistics (MIL) in Việt Nam. One of the advantages of this cooperating program is that students in Việt Nam can enroll in any on-line courses of ALA and ask for support at any time. MIL has become the pioneer and the single ATP of ALA in Vietnam, offering Diploma & Advance Diploma courses in Supply Chain Management & Logistics program.
The program, conducted by lecturers from Australia, has the similar or lower fee than one in Australia. This training model has been successfully developed in Singapore, Malaysia, and India for eight years, and Vietnam is among its potential successful candidates.
As Logistics Service Industry is considered one of the nice key Service Industries in Ho Chi Minh city, aiming to boost the human resource for local Logistics Industry, beside the Online Program “Supply Chain Management and Logistics” in partnership with ALA and Corporate Training Courses, MIL is now holding more sophisticate weekly training courses on Saturdays and Sundays on imports/exports aspects, forwarding industry, logistics, supply chain management to individuals and companies who would like to acquire and update advanced knowledge of the above aspects.
Our courses are designed and delivered by experienced international Professors, Specialists of MIL. The dedicated, understandable and updated structures of our courses offer students comprehensive understanding of domestic and international business situations in a higher level.
Participants of MIL’s courses are not only managers from forwarding companies but imports/exports companies (shippers) in various areas such as steel, oil-gas, garment, pharmaceutical industries, etc.
MIL is expected to become a logistics research and training center, necessary and helpful for all importers, exporters, manufacturers, forwarders, etc. and to gain a position among other logistics schools, institutes in South East Asia and around the world. It is MIL’s goal to contribute to policy of developing human resource especially in Logistics industry as stated in the Resolution of “Vietnam’s Sea Strategy by 2020” issued by The Central Committee in 2007.
