Hamburg Süd recently took delivery of 2,000 new Daikin Reefer container refrigeration units, which enable precise temperature control with one of the lowest power consumptions available in the market.
The first order for 1,000 units was placed in October 2009, followed in February by an order for another 1,000 units.
During the past five years, Hamburg Süd has placed several large orders for Daikin LXE10E units, and now a significant portion of its fleet comprises Daikin units.
According to the German-based ocean carrier, reduced ownership costs, energy savings and temperature control precision were key factors in its decision to invest in the new equipment.
