Tianjin port, the biggest integrated port in north China, is expected to deal with 460 million tonnes of cargo and handle 13 million TEUs in the entire 2010, SinoCast reported.
The port recorded US$205 million in value-added in the first quarter of the year, when cargo throughput rose 9.4 percent from a year ago to 93.03 million tonnes and container throughput hiked 12.7 percent to 2.17 million TEUs.
To complete the goal, $5.2 billion will be pumped into the port by 2012 to speed up construction of bigger bulk-cargo berths that will lift the cargo throughput by more than 100 million tonnes.
In addition, the port will strive to consolidate its position in the international logistics supply chain and set up an intensified logistics network to quicken expansion in the global market.
