French container line CMA CGM said it is raising rates on a host of trades starting June 1.
The increases are: • From U.S. ports (East, West and Gulf coasts) to Australia and New Zealand, $150 per 20-foot container and $300 per 40-foot container. • From U.S. ports to the Mediterranean and the Indian Subcontinent, $200 per 20-foot container (excluding reefers), $250 per 40-foot container (excluding reefers). • From U.S. ports to the Middle East Gulf and the Red Sea, $150 per 20-foot container (excluding reefers), $200 per 40-foot container (excluding reefers). • From U.S. ports to northern Europe, the Baltic, Scandinavia, United Kingdom and Ireland, $200 per 20-foot container (excluding reefers), $300 per 40-foot container (excluding reefers). • From Asia to West Africa, $250 per 20-foot container. • From northern Europe to the Far East, $200 per 20-foot container and $100 per 40-foot container. • From northern Europe to Japan, $250 per 20-foot container and $150 per 40-foot container • From northern Europe, the United Kingdom, Scandinavia and the Baltic to the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea, $100 per 20-foot dry container and $200 per 40-foot dry or high cube container
CMA CGM said it will also assess a “peak volume surcharge” of $325 or 250 euro per 20-foot container on shipments from northern Europe to the East Coast of South America, and $100 per 20-foot container from Asia to Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, and Morocco.
