Cathay Pacific Airways and sister airline Dragonair saw air cargo volume rise 13.1 percent in August to 149,009 tons during the month.
The airlines’ load factor increased 0.7 percent to 72.7 percent, while capacity rose 24.5 percent. For the year, tonnage has grown 22 percent compared to a capacity increase of 11.1 percent.
"Our cargo traffic in August was not quite as strong as the previous month in terms of volume, and our tonnage growth was some way behind capacity growth,” said James Woodrow, Cathay Pacific general manager of cargo sales and marketing.
