From next summer Miami will be the second North American destination to be served by TAP, which will operate five flights per week between Lisbon and Miami – that most emblematic city in the State of Florida and a destination used as the main distribution passenger hub between Central America and the Caribbean and Europe.
With the inauguration of this new connection TAP is hoping to increase the traffic flows between Europe and Miami, thereby consolidating the competitiveness of its hub in Lisbon and the traffic on its European routes.
It must be highlighted here that TAP already operates direct flights from Lisbon and Porto to New York – Newark in the United States with seven flights from Lisbon and three from Porto per week in the summer period (with five and two departures per week respectively during the winter).
