Boeing Co has increased production of its wide-body 777 plane to seven per month from a previous rate of five, reported Reuters.
Production of the plane is still set to rise to 8.3 planes a month in the first quarter of 2013, the manufacturer said. There were 48 new orders received for 777s through April, Boeing added.
The rate increases reflect strong demand for the 777, which serves the 300 to 400 passenger-seat market. Boeing also said production flow for the plane had been reduced to 49 days from 52 days from start to finish because of increased productivity.
