The largest container vessel of the China Ocean Shipping Company (Cosco) has visited Kaohsiung Harbour for the first time, marking a new step forward in Taiwan-China partnership in cargo shipping, Kaohsiung Harbour Bureau (KHB) said, reported Central News Agency.
The Cosco Pride is the largest container ship to have entered the port, KHB officials said.
The ship, billed as the largest container vessel in the world, weighs 141,823 metric tonnes, is 352.88m long and 48.2m wide. It has a cargo capacity of 13,114 TEUs.
The Cosco Group plans to add four more cargo ships to its European line in the near future.
