The revised Rules UCP 600 Uniform Customs and Practices for Documentary Credits will soon celebrate its three years of successful operation (they are in force from the 1st July 2007). Hand in hand with this revision the ISBP International Standard Banking Practice (ISBP) for the Examination of Documents under Documentary Credits were also updated and formally adopted.
With the downturn in the global economy and the resultant increase trade credit risk the importance of the application of international standards in documentary credit operations is at an all time high.
Based on the real demands of the industrial community, Vietnam Institute of Logistics (VIL), Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and TAF will jointly hold the Seminar: “The new revised ICC International Commercial Terms – delivery terms used in international and domestic trade” in Hà Nội, Đà Nẵng and Hồ Chí Minh City from 27/02/2012 to 05/03/2012.
Participants will gain a solid knowledge of how to apply UCP 600 and ISBP 681 in day to day operational practice. This knowledge is of critical importance as practically 100% of Documentary Credits issued globally are issued subject to these UCP rules. Participants will be able to speak knowledgeably with trade bankers, contracting counterparts, shipping companies and other parties involved in the trade cycle, and use the UCP 600 and ISBP in a practical and informed manner.
This workshop will be of benefit to exporters and importers as well as professionals working in banks trade finance and risk management departments. It is also of interest to transport companies and other third party services providers who support exporters and importers in international trade. Banking and commercial lawyers will also gain an insight into developments in documentary credit operations and understand how to apply the ISBP in practice.
