Non-vessel-operating common carrier Shipco Transport has started a new less-than-containerload service originating in Rio Haina, Dominican Republic to Miami.
The service, with a transit time of five days, uses ocean carrier Antillean Marine Shipping Corp. Along with the new service, the neutral NVO offers inland point intermodal coverage via Miami to all U.S. points as well as transshipment to Latin America.
“Miami is already a big transshipment hub for cargo originating from Asia and Europe to Latin America,” said Jesper Jepsen, Shipco’s vice president for the South Atlantic region. “By adding this service we have taken another step towards offering service from Latin America and Caribbean to the rest of the world with Miami as a hub.”
The NVO will continue to add new services throughout the year, further enhancing options into Miami from the Caribbean and Latin America.
