Maersk Line plans to raise its rates on westbound trade from India to North Europe and the Mediterranean, starting July 1.
The planned increase will be $250 per 20-foot or 40-foot-equivalent unit.
Separately, the Danish carrier said it will apply a $200 per TEU and a $300 per FEU general rate increase on eastbound shipments from North Europe and the Mediterranean to the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East, also effective July 1.
The subcontinent region includes ports in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
