Maersk Line has announced several rate increases that will all take effect on April 1.
The ocean carrier will increase rates on its trade from the Indian subcontinent to North Europe by $250 per 20-foot dry container and $400 per 40-foot, 40-foot high-cube and 45-foot dry container.
On its Southeast Asia to Australia trade, Maersk Line will hike rates by $200 per 20-foot container and $400 per 40-foot container.
The company will increase rates on its east Mediterranean to West Africa trade as well:
- From Egypt, Israel, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Novorossisk (Russia) and Georgia to West Africa, the increase will be $100 per 20-foot container and $200 per 40-foot container.
- From Turkey to West Africa, the increase will be $200 per 20-foot container and $300 per 40-foot container.
From North Europe to the Far East, the hike will be $100 per 20-foot dry container and $200 per 40-foot and 45-foot high-cube dry container.
On its Canada to Far East trade, the increase will be $80 per 20-foot container and $100 per 40-foot store-door, 40-foot high-cube and 45-foot high-cube container.
From Europe to Oceania, excluding Syria, the hike will be $200 per 20-foot container, $400 per 40-foot container and $500 per 45-foot high-cube container. From Syria to Oceania, the hike will be $140 per 20-foot container, $310 per 40-foot container and $380 per 45-foot high-cube container.
Maersk Line will increase rates on its southern Africa to Far East trade by $75 per 20-foot container and $25 per 40-foot and 40-foot high-cube dry container. From the Far East to southern Africa and the Indian Ocean islands, the hike will be $300 per 20-foot container and $600 per 40-foot and 40-foot high-cube dry container.
