“K” Line said it will deploy five new 14,000-TEU containerships in the Asia-Europe trade.
The Japanese carrier said the five ships will be built by the Imabari Shipbuilding Co. for an undisclosed price.
The vessels will be delivered in the spring and summer of 2015 and will “strengthen efficiency and cost competitiveness of 'K' Line’s containership business,” the carrier said.
The ships will be part of CKYH Alliance service. By 2015, a total 35 of similar size vessels will be operated by CKYH members - 14 that exist and 21 which are currently on order, including the five announced by “K” Line.
