Maersk Line will boost rates in its trade from the Far East, excluding Japan, to the Mediterranean, starting July 1.
- From the Far East to the Mediterranean, excluding Portugal and Syria, the increase will be $400 per 20-foot container and $800 per 40-foot and 45-foot high-cube container.
- From the Far East to Portugal, the hike will be $950 per 20-foot container and $1,900 per 40-foot and 45-foot high-cube container.
- From the Far East to Syria, the increase will be €310 (about US$413) per 20-foot container and $826 per 40-foot and 45-foot high-cube container.
Mediterranean Shipping Co., MOL and OOCL will also implement a rate increase in this trade lane on the same date.
Furthermore, Maersk will increase rates on its trade from Southeast Asia to Australia, effective July 1. The hike will be $150 per 20-foot container and $300 per 40-foot container.
The container line will also implement an export and import service fee for all cargo moving to and from Australia’s Port of Melbourne.
