DHL Global Forwarding has launched less-than-containerload direct services linking India’s ports of Nhava Sheva (Jawaharlal Nehru) and Chennai with Shanghai, as the Deutche Post DHL Group unit taps India’s growing retail and automotive sectors.
The company said the weekly services would substantially reduce transit times on the route. DHL also said the LCL services ensure shipments from India reach the company’s warehouse in Shanghai within 72 hours of arrival in port.
The move follows a string of similar services DHL has started from Nhava Sheva to key global destinations, including Los Angeles, Dubai, Durban, Gothenburg, Lodz and Santos, over the past three years.
