Yang Ming Revamps Intra-Asia Services

Yang Ming Marine Transport has revamped its intra-Asia service network by forming new vessel-sharing and slot exchange arrangements with other ocean carriers on the routes.

 

Effective April 30, Yang Ming began operating its Pan-Asia Service II (PA2) in conjunction with Cosco Container Lines and Wan Hai Lines, deploying four ships with capacity around 4,250 TEUs. The 28-day round-trip rotation is Xingang, Dalian, Qingdao, Shanghai, Fuzhou Jiangyin Port, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Kelang, Penang, Singapore, Hong Kong and Xingang.

 

Starting May 7, the Taiwanese carrier will operate its Pan Asia Service (PAS) jointly with T.S. Lines, with tonnage deployment upsized to two 1,800-TEU vessels. The port rotation will be Moji, Hakata, Pusan, Kwanyang, Keelung, Taichung, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Shekou, Xiamen, Keelung and Moji, offering a 14-day round-trip voyage.

 

Yang Ming will now use three 2,800-TEU ships on its Japan-Taiwan-Philippines Service (JTS), effective May 8. Also jointly operated with Hong Kong-based T.S. Lines, the JTS has a 21-day round-trip voyage on the following rotation: Nagoya, Tokyo, Chiba, Yokohama, Keelung, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Manila (South), Manila (North), Hong Kong, Shekou, Xiamen and Nagoya.

 

Yang Ming plans to introduce a new intra-Asia loop, called South East Asia Service II (SEA2), in partnership with Orient Express Lines, using two 1,800-TEU ships. The port coverage is Haiphong, Ho Chi Minh, Singapore, Port Kelang and Singapore, providing a 14-day round-trip voyage.

Starting in mid-May, Yang Ming will upgrade its independent South East Asia Service (SEA) with deployment of two 1,800-TEU vessels. The 14-day round-trip rotation will be Laem Chabang, Singapore, Port Kelang, Jakarta, Singapore and Laem Chabang.

 

Effective May 14, the Taiwanese carrier will launch a new direct service linking key ports in Thailand with Malaysia and Indonesia by acquiring slots from Evergreen Line. The TMI service rotation will be Bangkok, Laem Chabang, Port Kelang, Tanjung Pelepas, Jakarta, Singapore and Bangkok, providing a round voyage of 14 days.
