Yang Ming Line plans to upgrade its intra-Asia service network by joining the China-India Express Service operated by a consortium of Evergreen Line, “K” Line, Hapag-Lloyd and Simatech Shipping.
The Taiwanese carrier will contribute one vessel on the string of six ships, each with a capacity of 4,200 20-foot-equivalent units.
The port rotation will be: Xingang and Qingdao, China; Laem Chabang, Thailand; Singapore; Tanjung Pelepas and Port Kelang, Malaysia; Nhava Sheva (Jawaharlal Nehru), India; Colombo, Sri Lanka; and back to Port Kelang, Singapore, Tanjung Pelepas and Xingang.
The first sailing under the new vessel-sharing agreement is scheduled for Sept. 16 from Xingang.
