MAERSK's intra-Asia specialist, Singapore-based MCC Transport, has launched a weekly Myanmar service connecting once diplomatically isolated Myanmar's growing economy to global markets via transshipment in South East Asia.
The service is launched jointly with CMA CGM, with each carrier deploying one vessel to offer customers a fixed weekly arrival and departure to and from Yangon.
MCC Transport's geared, 1,118-TEU Malte Rambow called at the Myanmar Industrial Port in Yangon on her maiden call. Its rotation is Yangon, Port Klang, Tanjung Pelapas, Singapore and back to Yangon in 14 days.
