Yingkou to invest US$1.86 billion in port construction

YINGKOU port will invest CNY14 billion (US$1.86 billion) in port construction during the 11th Five-year Plan period (2006-2010), said Gao Baoyu, president of Yingkou Port Group.     The port in Northeast China's Liaoning province will become a regional hub port connecting waterways, highways, railways and pipelines by 2015, Mr Gao said.      Yingkou port is the nearest port to the rapidly developing hinterlands of Northeast China, which provides much cargo, a report of Xinhua said.   Asian Shipper News
