CMA CGM will increase the frequency of its Vasco Express service linking South America’s east coast and the Persian Gulf to a weekly service, effective November 6th.
The Vasco Express will now be operated in partnership with CSAV.
The service will deploy eight 1,700 TEU vessels (each equipped with 350 reefer plugs), an increase from the line’s seven vessels when it began operations last February.
A new call in Jebel Ali has been added to the rotation, which will be: Santos > Paranagua > Itajai > Rio Grande > Khor Fakkan > Jebel Ali > Damman > Bandar Abbas > Nhava Sheva > Durban > Santos.
“These changes enable us to meet strong reefer cargo demand in the region around Jebel Ali and to reduce transit time between Rio Grande and the Persian Gulf by two days – a major competitive advantage when it comes to transporting sensitive cargo,” said Jean-Yves Duval, director of Latin America East Coast lines.
