Korean Air Cargo is to sell capacity in the US market through its own offices with two divisions, one handling the USA west coast and other the east of the country and Canada.
It terminated its participation in a joint venture cargo organisation with SkyTeam partners Delta and Air France last month. Korean Air was top cargo airline for the fifth consecutive year in 2008, according to the International Air Transport Association.
The Korean carrier recorded 8.822 billion international FTK (Freight Tonne-Kilometres), ahead of China’s Cathay Pacific and Germany’s Lufthansa.
