Arkia Israeli Airlines has announced it would begin in mid November, schedule flights, twice a week, from Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport to Borispol International Airport (KBP) Kyyiv (Kiev), Ukraine.
The announcement followed Ministry of Transport's official granting of designated carrier status to Arkia on the route to Ukraine.
In a statement issued by the company it noted that it has plans to increase flight frequency in the future. The company added that it will operate its Boeing 757-300 and EMBRAER 195 jet on the route.
Arkia Israel Airlines is Israel's second largest airline after EI AI. It offers scheduled domestic and international services as well as charter flights to Western Europe and the Mediterranean. Its main base is Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv.
